  • Yes, in-person appointments are available in Weston, FL.

    Please note that patients are seen by appointment only. Dr. Betterly is unable to accommodate walk in visits.

  • Virtual telehealth video visits are offered for patients physically located in Florida at the time of the visit.

    If you are located out of state at the time of your visit, you will be required to reschedule, as Dr. Betterly is not licensed to practice medicine outside of FL. Please keep travel plans in mind when scheduling visits.

    While telehealth provides a convenient option to access care, it is not appropriate for every condition. If Dr. Betterly determines that in-person care is necessary for your safety and wellbeing, in-person care will be recommended.

  • No, Dr. Betterly is available by appointment only. It is very important to her that she has adequate time to discuss your concerns, and by scheduling appointments in advance, she can ensure that you have her undivided attention.

  • Dr. Betterly sees adult patients, ages 18+. She does not treat children.

  • Dr. Betterly has experience treating a range of mental health conditions. She has chosen to focus her current practice at BetterlyMD on the treatment of:

    • Depression

    • Anxiety

    • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

    Dr. Betterly wants to ensure that you receive the best treatment possible for your mental health conditions. If at any point Dr. Betterly determines that your condition would be better served by a different physician, such as a specialist or a multidisciplinary team, a referral will be provided.

    While telehealth provides a convenient option to access care, it is not appropriate for every condition. Dr. Betterly reserves the right to require in-person visits if she determines that it is necessary for your safety and wellbeing.

  • ADHD is often treated with stimulant medications, which are controlled substances. Dr. Betterly does not prescribe controlled substances. Because of this, she does not currently provide ADHD evaluations or treatment.

    Please be aware that controlled substances may include:

    • Stimulants used in the treatment of ADHD (such as Ritalin or Adderall)

    • Benzodiazepines (such as Xanax or Klonopin)

    • Barbiturates (such as phenobarbital)

    • Certain sleep medications

Appointments

  • Dr. Betterly is currently an in-network provider for Aetna and Cigna. Additional information can be found here. She does not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or any other insurance plans.

    She plans to begin accepting additional insurance plans in the near future, so please check back.

  • If you do not have Aetna or Cigna, you have the option to see Dr. Betterly as an out-of-network provider. This means that you would be personally responsible for the full cost of the visit, charged to your credit card on file. Our self-pay rates are listed here.

    You may be eligible to submit your receipt to your insurance for some reimbursement via out-of-network benefits. Call your insurance to see if this applies to you. There is no guarantee that you will receive reimbursement.

  • If you are uninsured, you have the option to pay the self-pay (cash) rate for your visits. Self-pay rates are listed here.

    If you have a routine question, such as a request for medication refills or appointment rescheduling, please send Dr. Betterly a secure message via the Spruce Health app:

    Dr. Betterly will make every effort to get back to you within one business day.

    Please be aware that routine medication refills are only provided during regular business hours. Dr. Betterly is careful to provide refills to last until the time of your next visit so that you don’t have to worry about running out.

    If you have an urgent medical question, such as a serious reaction to medication, you can reach Dr. Betterly via phone.

    If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, includingthoughts of suicide or homicide, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

  • No, Dr. Betterly does not offer disability evaluations, nor any other medicolegal evaluations, at this time.

  • While Dr. Betterly is an animal lover and a strong believer in the therapeutic benefits of pets, she is unable to provide ESA letters.

    ESA evaluations can be considered disability evaluations, as psychiatrists must first determine whether a patient has a disability, and then determine whether the ESA will alleviate the psychiatric symptoms causing the disability. Dr. Betterly does not provide disability evaluations at this time.
